Hello! I'm Deb Almond, the artist behind Candid Almond. I'm a self taught artist but I put my paints and pencils down in my early 20's to pursue a career in public health. My work in sexual and reproductive health led me all over the world, but as the years wore on I was forced to confront why my way of life had left me feeling more and more depleted. Far from a terrifying leap into the abyss, Candid Almond became the only thing that made sense.

I'm inspired by Reproductive Justice, protest art from around the world, strong women who demand to be heard, visual messages of unity and hope, and my own mental health.

I'm a Londoner living in Washington, DC with my Michigander husband and two children.
